Ralphi Rosario ‘You Used to Hold Me’

In 1981, bubbling in the Chicago house music scene, five guys coming from all different ethnic backgrounds had a radio show on WBMX called the ‘Hot Mix Dance Party’.

They were Scott Smokin’ Silz, Kenny Jammin’ Jason, Farley Funkin’ Keith, Mickey Mixin’ Oliver and Ralphi Rockin’ Rosario.

Ralphi Rosario was the youngest of the group.

Each member went on to achieve individual success within the music business.

After the success of ‘You Used To Hold Me’, Rosario went on to become a true legend in the business, achieving a high profile career as a producer and remixer.

Now heading Stateside, their latest album ‘Soundboy Rock’ drops in March on Strictly Rhythm.

Out now is the chart topping ‘Love Sweet Sound’, with mixes from Mark Knight and Funkagenda, Nic Fanciulli, Friscia and Lomboy.

Vega Records

Vega Records continues its new digital series with a collection of some of the hottest remixes ever released on the celebrated Louie Vega [right image] imprint.

Featuring a heavy dose of French house flavor mixed with Latin, American and world rhymes and flavors, ‘Vega Allstar Remixers’ is an adventurous package featuring deep, minimal, tribal and Latin influences, but all containing the fierce groove synonymous with the label.

Phonetic Recordings

Roar & Bumgartner ‘The Beat’ is released, with mixes by Roar & Bumgartner themselves, Air Bureau, Josh Nordlander, Turbofunk, Chris Bailey and Josh Nordlander.

The track incorporates a live double-bass and a catchy female vocal resting upon punchy drums and percussion.

It has a hypnotic edge with a loopy groove and burns a cool impression on your mind with the lyrics of “the drums keep pounding the rhythm to my brain”, which work with the live bass.

TRIBAL

Brand new mixes of an all-time classic mark the official return of the Rob Di Stefano legendary TRIBAL label.

‘Bottom Heavy’, the first breakthrough single by Danny Tenaglia, gets a fresh coat of house paint by Italy’s Phunk Investigation with four versions that work in any room on ‘Bottom Heavy 2008’.

Other classic TRIBAL titles available: Deep Dish ‘The Dream’, Elastic Reality ‘Cassa de X’ feat. BT, and Roxy ‘Love To Do It’ — a track full of attitude.
