When Beatport found out that DFA Records had signed a label agreement with Beatport, we jumped in the air, bashed all the cowbells we could find and said “woop da woop”.

Yes, the seminal US label that catapulted LCD Soundsystem, The Rapture and Hot Chip into the big time is now available digitally with a barrage of new releases poised.

This one from Holy Ghost! (not to be confused with The Holy Ghosts also from New York) is the modern incarnation of the artists formerly known as Automato, which DFA label bosses Goldsworthy and James Murphy previously produced the debut for.

Automato (AKA Frankel and Millhiser) then toured as recording members of The Juan Maclean, all the time cultivating and collecting on their fixations with analog synthesizers, old school production techniques and rare disco.

Excited? You should be, the end product is totally classic DFA infected disco punk, the kind that won’t leave you alone and will have you wiggling in your bed and nodding your head when you really should be sleeping.

Mix 1 is the vocal mix and the best, Mix 2 is the instrumental version and Mix 3 is a more upbeat stripped down disco version.

All are amazing.
