Hi-Bias Records stays strong

While many of the original early 1990s house labels have fallen by the wayside, becoming nothing more then a distant memory and a footnote in house music’s ever evolving history, Hi-Bias Records are a true survivor and innovator that’s still very much alive and kickin’.

The Canadian dance imprint once widely proclaimed as the “the DJ’s label” grew out of the ashes of Big Shot Records in 1990 with Nick Fiorucci guiding them into the next adventure.

He’s still at the helm almost 2 decades on, and the releases keep coming thick and fast.

The latest additions to schedule include Marco G’s driving slab of tech house disco ‘When ICU’ (a stomping slice of tribal-kissed beats with kitsch vocals interwoven) and Nick Fiorucci’s own Kelly Malbasa sung ‘The Night’ – a surreal epic house journey, not least in Chriss Ortega’s sonic soundclash.
