Herzel’s Maps And Thoughts trilogy starts today

Herzel - Maps And Thoughts Part 1 (FILTER031)
Release date: March 28th, 2011
Genres: Electronica, Leftfield, Downtempo
For fans of: Trentemoller, Apparat, Moderat, Thom Yorke

ABOUT THE RELEASE

It is always exciting to present a new signing on a label, but this time we have a truly special occasion. Filter welcomes the artist extraordinaire known as Herzel. His first release on the label is the first part of a proposed trilogy quite fittingly called Maps And Thoughts. It is inspired by personal experiences and presents the author at his most vulnerable, introspective state. The opening track sets the mood nicely and features the vocal and guitar interventions of another amazing musician and underground legend Sasko Kostov. Letters From The Past is emotionally extremely close to Thom York territory circa The Eraser, while the closing Ritual is just the right song to whet your appetite and make you wait for Part Two in anticipation.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Herzel is a multitalented artist trained in photography and visual arts. His music knowledge and experience is mainly formed by many years of DJ-ing. As a music producer his work is based on the sound arrangements for different bodies of visual works, part of the photo, video and sound installations. Herzel’s concept of music production is to make the crossover between electronic musical genres and audio/visual art.
