Hed Kandi announces Disco House Producer Competition

If you’re a UK-based house producer and you make your tunes driving, upbeat, and extra glittery, then this is the competition for you.

To celebrate Hed Kandi: Disco House Samples, a new producer pack released in association with Sample Magic, the Hed Kandi label is running a production competition based on the material. The concept is simple: “To enter the competition, simply produce one full-length disco-house recording using at least one sample from this collection in a prominent role. Additional samples that you own the licence to, as well as original recorded vocals and/or instrumentation, may also be used. Entries that feature an original vocal line are particularly welcome: who knows, you might have the next Hed Kandi anthem.”

The winning track will be released on the forthcoming Hed Kandi Taste of Winter 2011 compilation. Additionally, the winner will take home £500 worth of Sample Magic prizes, including 10 DVD sample collections, a copy of Sample Magic’s Secrets of House Music Production and a copy of Paul White’s The Producers Manual; he or she also scores a Hed Kandi basket full of the latest Hed Kandi compilations, a pair of Hed Kandi headphones, and other label merchandise.

Hed Kandi: Disco House Samples includes over 700 MB of disco-house samples, including over 800 24-bit WAV loops and one-shots, ranging from bass licks and Latin percussion to voice and guitar. You can learn more about the product from Sample Magic’s official website.
