Heartthrob’s debut artist album

Just a few moments ago I met Heartthrob aka Jesse Siminski, who’s something of an American minimal werewolf now living in Paris.

Heartthrob moved to Paris “because Europe’s electronic music scene is well established and developed.”

Heartthrob revealed that his debut artist album ‘Dear Painter, Paint Me’ is set for release June 30th on Minus records and is “a collection of tracks that I’ve very proud of.”

“Techno has no boundaries,” Heartthrob told Beatportal. “It’s about how you get sounds out of machines, and what interests me is when the personality of an artist comes through in their music.

“Like with a Zip record or a Troy Pierce track, you can hear their personality behind the music, and you know who made it from the feeling it gives you.”

When Jesse Siminski speaks, he does so with a quiet voice, smiles politely and seems very relaxed – his music too, is refined minimal techno, sometimes haunting, sometimes dark, but always understated.

Perhaps techno is the purest art form for a person to express their inner being – Heartthrob’s music matches his personality perfectly.

Heartthrob released his first ever single ‘Time For Ensor’ on Minus in 2005, and since then he’s had a number of high profile minimal hits including ‘Baby Kate’ and his remix of Troy Pierce’s ‘25 Bitches’.

We haven’t heard his LP yet, but look forward to it in earnest.

Video: Heartthrob plays circus music

Here’s a video of Heartthrob playing live at Movement 2008. The track he’s playing sounds like circus music. Awesome.
