There’s something about Australians and pop music - they go together like cheese and wine, tea and biscuits, Kylie and Jason.

Perhaps it’s hereditary, programmed into their genetics along with surfing, barbeques and playing rugby.

Okay, so less of the stereotypes, but let’s face it, the Australians know how to write pop anthems, and Cut Copy ‘Hearts On Fire’ is a prime example of their poptastic abilities.

Recently the music world has been bombarded with an influx of Antipodean electro pop acts, such as The Presets, Midnight Juggernauts and Cut Copy.

The Modular label has been educating music listeners on a global scale about electro-tinged pop since its conception in Australia over ten years ago.

‘Hearts on Fire’ is the stand out release from Cut Copy’s, ‘In Ghost Colours’ album.

Remixed by the ever-epic indie disco rockers the Midnight Juggernauts, this synth pop diamond is transformed into a disco space party with a stomping 4/4 beat.

As the track reaches its penultimate supernova, the infectious lyrics, ‘My hearts on fire, I reach out to you tonight’ churn over and over again. It’s pure interstellar bliss.
