Hatiras remixes ‘Bass Monkeys’
7 April, 2008 | 1.59PM- Section: Music News Topics: House Nation
I can’t get enough of Hatiras’ ultra kitsch, funky and quirky ‘Bass Monkeys’.
Around before Christmas in its original mixes on Hatrax, the track is now toughened, roughened and justifiably funked up some more with electro-etched riffs underscoring the dialogue.
What’s it all about then?
Monkeys that dance when exposed to music played above 60 kHz we’re told “and then they jump like crazed animals!”
Little wonder as the Refilthed Remix rides a punked-up vibe blending acid squelches and retro 303 sounds to create the perfect backdrop for the madness.
The Canadians are fast catching up with their North American neighbours in the energised house stakes and are easily rivaling anything that their neighbours can do.
While Hatiras’ imprint is fast becoming one to watch in the jackin’ filtered house stakes.
