Another Simon “Bassline” Smith & Drumsound production and another essential download from Beatport.

‘Harder Faster’ is a naughty track – naughty in the respect that its producers are using a sample that has only been cleared to Kanye West – and it’s basically a remix of Kanye West’s ‘Stronger’ from the ‘Graduation’ LP.

It’s superb – we can’t think of better producers to be given the responsibility of this remix.

The vocals duck in constantly as the rest of the track pulls away, to which the meat of the production – beats, bass and iron-clad drums – rock back in and mess things up good and proper.

‘It Came From Mars’ reminds us of the Zombies Ate My Neighbours video game on the SNES.

It’s great to see some drum & bass producers having fun here too, and not taking themselves too deathly seriously.

This production has all the LFO pads you could ever want from a sci-fi masterpiece – there are literally tons of them – interwoven into a true D&B smasher.

Watch out for the cool and cheesy retro sci-fi vocals and some hoover FX straight out of the TC textbook.
