Beatportal has launched a brand new blog series that will serve as the perfect resource for anyone interested in synthesis. Synthesizers form the basis of all electronic music, and our Technology Editor Francis Preve will attempt to shed some light on what is essentially a very complicated topic in his ‘Guide To Synthesis’.

In part one entitled ‘Introduction To Synthesizers’, we take a look at the different types of synthesis and discuss the pros and cons of sampling, subtractive synthesis and FM synthesis.
