GU launches new mix series with Nic Fanciulli

Compilation mainstay Global Underground have announced a new DJ mix series and have enlisted the talents of Nic Fanciulli to provide the first installment.

The imaginatively titled ‘Global Underground DJ - 001’ is a double disc affair that aims to “put the power in the hands of the DJ”.

“Most people my age grew up with the Global Underground series, so to be asked to compile this album is an honor, especially as it’s the start of a new concept,” commented Fanciulli on his work with GU. 

Although billed as a mix of “influences and heroes”, the theme is more that of an upfront DJ mix with a whole heap of exclusive material thrown in for good measure. Mark Broom, DJ Rolando and Seth Troxler all feature, alongside the more surprising selections of Metro Area, Pangaea and Nick Holder.

“I’m so excited about this new series for GU,” said GU founder Andy Horsfield.

“I feel now is the time for us to give world class DJs like Nic the opportunity to really show the world how amazing they are. I picked Nic to launch this series for us as he is the one DJ who has consistently impressed me every time I’ve seen him play, be it at Space in Ibiza or WMC in Miami, Nic always delivers he is hands down a truly amazing DJ.”
