Green Velvet to play Bloc Weekend 2009
Green Velvet to play Bloc Weekend 2009
7 January, 2009 | 4.57PMWith Carl Craig
, Kode9, Lee Scratch Perry, Frequency 7 and Appleblim
having already confirmed for Bloc Weekend 2009, there was more than enough reason to make the trek to Butlins Holiday Camp, in Minehead, Somerset, England.
But now Chicago house and electronica god Green Velvet
aka Cajmere
has been added to the Bloc party, which takes place from March 13th-15th, 2009 (check out some of Green Velvet’s excellent past releases in the player after the jump).
Green Velvet’s music is a mixture of techno, house and experimental electro and there’s always an acidic edge to his sets.
His 1992 hit ‘Percolator’ showed his bleepy electro side, whilst ‘I Need You feat. Dajae’ is firmly in the house territory.
Now that Green Velvet
has been added to the Bloc line-up, the festival is starting to look like the essential UK party date of the spring for those who like their electronic music experimental, underground, dubby and techy.
