Gramatik Releases ‘One Drink’ on Eighttrax

Gramatik Releases ‘One Drink’ on Eighttrax

A relatively new artist, this talented and really diverse producer/DJ called Gramatik has raised a little bit of dust with his debut track on Beatport not too long ago, a remix he did for DJ Vitamin D which made it straight to top 100 electro house chart, ending up in #24 in the end.

Now he’s back with his new solo release on Eighttrax (US), a bangin’ electro house track called ‘One Drink’.

The track is a straight up club banger, with some fresh jumpy beats and a funky electro bass line that keeps breaking your neck over and over, giving you a somewhat ‘’George Clinton P-Funk’’ feel to it with an electro twist.

For the vocals he sampled a female standup comedian which gives a club track a story, which is really rare these days and a lot of times badly done, but he pulled it off quite nicely.

The vocal talks about how guys always think that if they buy a woman a drink in the club, they can follow her all night, thinking it’s ‘’gonna happen’’.

It gets revealed in three parts through the track, building up the story nice and smooth. ‘

The break down almost completely changes the feel of the track, introducing different synths in to the mix and a looped vocal cut saying ‘’let me break it down for you again’’ which makes the tension rise nicely and then he brings back the track after the peak, with a nice smooth passage back in to the main bass line and shuffling beats once more, before slowly decreasing towards the end.

In closure I’d say it’s a rich, non-boring and effective club track with a fresh touch that will definitely get your attention and at the same time, get the floor going crazy and wild.

The release features a vocal mix as well as the instrumental mix, to satisfy both tastes. Check it out!
