Global Gathering gets permanent license
6 July, 2007 | 5.27AMThe UK’s biggest dance music festival Global Gathering has been granted a permanent license guaranteeing its place as a permanent fixture on the British summer music circuit.
Launched seven years ago, Global Gathering has grown into a two-day camping festival which attracts over 50,000 clubbers from all over the world.
This year’s big bash will take place in its permanent home at Long Marston Airfield near Stratford upon Avon on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th July.
Dance bands Basement Jaxx and Faithless are headlining the festival alongside up and coming dance star Calvin Harris.
A number of the world’s biggest DJs are also playing, including Paul van Dyk
, Carl Cox
, Erick Morillo
, Armin Van Buuren
, Roger Sanchez
, Sasha
, Paul Oakenfold
and 2manyDJs.
Altogether over 150 DJs will play over the two days, which means Global Gathering has the biggest line-up of any dance festival in the UK.
And when you’re not dancing you socks off, there’s plenty to get busy with - the Adrenaline Village offers bungees, reverse bungees, and freefall simulators. There’s also a Chillout Village.
This year, clubbers will be able to take hot air balloon rides, get massages, and engage in some rather childish tomfoolery at the Trident Adult Playground complete with velcro inflatable walls, water fight rooms, and giant bean bags. There’s also an outdoor cinema.
The campsite also now offers showers for all guests, which means you won’t smell so bad after two days of raving.
