Over the years, dance producers have dabbled with updating Gwen McCrae’s 1980s soul weekender standards more often then most.

‘Keep The Fires Burnin’’, ‘Funky Sensation’, ‘90% Of Me’, and ‘Givin’ All My Love’ just a few that have been embraced by later generations.

Now in the hands of the Starjackers, the latter is neatly made-over once more with LA vocalist Wilson Roberts delivering a male twist to ‘Givin’ All My Love’ for the London-based Breakloose Music imprint.

It’s surprising that Roberts’ delivery isn’t a million miles removed from McCrae’s 1979 recording.

The Original Mix is perhaps the most radio-friendly and will likely feature in numerous DJs set over the coming months; another perfect addition to the current market’s hunger for all things retro.

While for something a little edgier and a mix that crosses over into Switch-territory, Micky Slim does what he does best – off-the-wall electro-embellished grooves with weird and wonderful effects combining to create dancefloor madness.
