“You get that feeling. You can’t describe it. Can’t find the words, but you know you like it. You get that feeling. You can’t describe it. All you know, is that you like it. That you want it. That you need it...”
Truer words never said.
This is a delicious electro house record - an awesome thing that deserves your attention NOW.
Featuring a plucky guitar on the intro reminiscent of Timbaland’s fantastic ‘Scream’ featuring Keri Hilson that was inspired by the best bands of the ‘80s like The Police, the Americanised vocals here are what house music is all about in terms of lyrical content and style.
The House Moguls live up to their name.
The percussion is brilliant, reminiscent of ‘Who’s Afraid Of Detroit’ by Claude Von Stroke.
The pads are warm and inspiring - an excellent choice by the producers that fits their composition like a glove.
Approaching the drop, dirty but ambient midrange pushes this track into its electro house pigeonhole.
When everything does tee off, a wonderfully basic video game-inspired raw square wave plays out a retro melody reserved for only the most vintage dance music.
An emotional and appealing arrangement, the original mix of ‘Get That Feelin’ featuring MC Flipside is essential, and further cements Flipside as one of the world’s best dance MCs (just check out his collaboration with Hatiras on ‘Just The Tip’ for proof).
On this release, complementing a Dub lick, you get a Bil Basil and Gus Calderone ‘Tripped Out’ mix, which sounds like the product of a studio session post a messy rave, and a radio edit.
