Get Physical tour: M.A.N.D.Y.’s top tracks

During the Get Physical tour M.A.N.D.Y. [a] played some ridiculously cool music, so one night I held Patrick from M.A.N.D.Y.’s head in a toilet bowl and pulled Philipp’s toe nails out until the Germans caved in and agreed to share some previews just for Beatportal’s users.

Here’s M.A.N.D.Y.’s top three tracks from the tour, including descriptions and audio clips.

All these bad boys are set to come out on Get Physical Music [l] during the next few months, so here’s a super-future snapshot of the music to come this summer.

1. Patrice Baumel ‘Roar’ (Cause Who Needs A Beat) [Get Physical]

This track is a roaring minimal techno record, and features a huge growling synth.

On a number of nights, ‘Roar’ was one of the biggest tunes of the party and as Philipp explains, “‘Roar’ is made by a super cool half Dutch, half East German guy.

“It sounds like a rocket ride through the streets of New York on a motorbike because it has this huge synth sound that is so recognizable.”

2. Silver Surfer ‘Penny Lane’ [Get Physical]

With its male rap vocals, quality FX and quirky arrangement, Patrick loves Silver Surfer’s ‘Penny Lane’ forthcoming on Get Physical.

“This reminds me of those old records on Trax,” he says.

“It’s kind of booty house, I guess. We expect to release this sometime around late summer.”

3. Dakkar ‘I’ve Got That Feeling’ [Get Physical]

With its gorgeous male vocal, groovy tech house loop and soft pads, ‘I’ve Got That Feeling’ was one of the biggest records of the tour.

M.A.N.D.Y. played it during almost every set, and it was a highlight of many of the nights.

Dakkar has bridged the gap between classic house music and sexy minimal techno in one record – ‘I’ve Got That Feeling’ may well come to define this era of electronic music.

Philipp reckons, “This is the perfect deep house summer tune - it’s like the sand between your toes and the sunshine on your face.

“We expect this track to be played at a lot of festivals this summer.”
