Former Mixmag journalist Gavin Herlihy recently took the Berlin plunge and moved to the city to delve deeper into the murky world of minimal and production.

He has abandoned his notepad and pens for loops and samples.

Having formerly hit the big time with his huge electro minimal workout ‘Machine Ate My Homework’ in 2006, the lad has now turned his hand towards more conceptual minimal techno and wacky Villalobos-style house.

His new DJ chart highlights the sound he has been working on and showcases some of his favourite old skool techno tracks.

Clearly all those hours spent couped up in Berlin’s Panorama Bar and Watergate have had an affect on Mr. Herlihy, a positive, forward-thinking change.

But he also still values electronic music’s past with Basic Channel, Kenny Dope and Steve Rachmad highlights.
