Gabriel & Dresden return to WMC, the event they where they first met
15 March, 2007 | 4.04AMUS DJ duo Gabriel & Dresden
are to return to the event where they first met each other, Miami’s Winter Music Conference, to celebrate the successful career that they have since carved out.
The pair will play a seven hour set at the trendy Pawn Shop venue in downtown Miami on Friday 23rd March with a number of guests from their Organized Nature record label.
Trent Cantrelle, Blake Jarrel, Özgür Can and Jeff Bomb will all appear at the party on Friday 23rd March.
It was back at 2001’s WMC that Josh Gabriel
and Dave Dresden
first met each other.
Gabriel was handing out copies of his first white label, and gave one to Dresden who at the time was sourcing new music for Pete Tong
.
Dresden loved the track and two weeks later it was played on Tong’s hugely influential BBC Radio 1 show the ‘Essential Selection’.
Tong then offered Dresden the opportunity to remix New Order’s ‘Someone Like You’ and Gabriel was asked to work on the remix.
The duo have not stopped making music since then, and are one of the most successful acts in dance music today.
Gabriel & Dresden have knocked up an amazing 16 Billboard Club Chart No.1 hits, have remixed the likes of Madonna, The Killers, Britney Spears, Paul Oakenfold and Tiësto, and are living proof that handing out records in Miami can help launch a dream DJ career.
