Gabriel Ananda’s ‘Trommelstunde’ is a hit
17 September, 2007 | 1.05PMPolyrhythms and electricity classify ‘Trommelstunde’ from the Gabriel Ananda
album ‘Bambusbeats’ released this past Spring on Karamouge.
The song has been a recent hit in the clubs, with spins by fellow German Sven Väth, among others.
It turns out that Väth himself was an inspiration for Ananda early in his still young career; it was when he had heard a set from Väth that true inspiration began to flow.
Ananda’s background stems from the acoustic side of music, playing cello and guitar at an early age. In fact, the drums for ‘Trommelstunde’ were performed live by Cologne’s jazz drummer Oliver Frank.
Ananda is also a DJ, but for a sneak-peak at his live production, check out ‘Take Off (Live)’, also included on ‘Bambusbeats’.
