Funky Junction celebrates 30 years

Funky Junction [a] aka Constantino ‘Mixmaster’ Padovano celebrates over 30 years in the business.

Costantino Padovano - better known as DJ Funky Junction - started his career in Brooklyn, New York, with a diversity of psychedelic styles, helping to lay the foundation for the New York underground.

Having been involved with music since 1979, Constantino combined his knowledge of cutting edge dance club music with his own fresh style to became well known in New York clubs such as Plato’s, Infinity, Studio 54, The Palladium, Save the Robot (after-hours), The World, The Ritz, Limelight, Danceteria, Area and the Tunnel.

During this time, Rudolf Piper was a direct influence on Costantino’s vision towards music and clubs.

Since then, he’s been one of the originators of the house music movement.

Throughout the years, his musical style has often changed, and he has gone from being one of the first Hard house DJs of New York to one of the few people who has influenced the world club scene.

Matured though his many experiences inside and outside of New York, Costantino’s style and selection of music is the key of his success - always a blend of colors and sounds in his performance, and a full 360-degrees of knowledge and experience.

Since 1980, Costantino has gained international recognition and his guest appearances that have taken him to the best parties around the world.
