Petter’s Freak ‘N Love was originally released back in 2005 as part of the ‘Untitled Acid EP’ on Deep Focus, and whilst the EP was well received, the track was somewhat overlooked in favour of the other tracks that were included.

With label boss Peter Van Hal feeling the track deserved the spotlight for itself, plans were made to release the track as a single in it’s own right, which until now had not happened. 

Instead, the project has been shaped into this remix EP, featuring remixes from Dousk, Muzikjunki, and a debut remix from the collaboration of Seattle DJ and producer Chloe Harris and Canada’s Deeburn.

Muzikjunki’s mashup with Muzzaik’s ‘Work It’ is a fun DJ tool but its appeal is somewhat limited.

The Dousk remix on the other hand is big and spacious, with subtle layers and great use of the original’s vocal loops and hook coming together to form a great mix that champions all the usual tricks we’ve come to expect from this Greek producer.

Wrapping up the package is the Chloe Harris & Deeburn version, a dark and textured rework, complete with digitized bassline, tight crunching beats and synths.

A versatile and well rounded EP from Focus.
