Focus On: Boysnoize Records

Various Artists [Boysnoize Records]...

With 11 loud and lairy indie dance/electro classics on one release, listening to ‘Focus On: Boysnoize Records’ is like having a large glass of hydrochloric acid tossed in your face.

Ok maybe that doesn’t sound like much fun, and that would be doing this marvelous release a major injustice as all of its tunes are a rip-roaring delight, but they do serve as a bleeding-great-big call to arms for anyone who likes their dance music noisy and rock-tinged.

Les Petits Pilous perhaps serves as the release’s main ‘Wake Up Call’, with its forever rising synths getting crushed and twisted around by an evil washing machine.

A-Track’s remix of Boys Noize ‘Oh!’ is equally as rocking, with a Daft Punk-esque vocal and a punky bassline, which is only outdone by Shadow Dancer’s glittering electro-tech cut ‘Soap’.

Spoek and Djedjotronic’s rude, big-butt-girl-touting hip hop takes things in an urban direction, whilst flavorful disco grooves appear courtesy of Strip Steve, and Shadow Dancer’s ‘Drivetime’.

The album and label’s overall theme? Synthtastic! And the best part is you get all 10 tracks plus a delicious mix by Strip Steve for less than a ten.
