Sister label to Markantonio’s Analytic Trail imprint, MKT Records is all about providing a channel for different concepts in techno music. Unearthing a never-ending conveyer belt of Neapolitan techno talent, Markantonio’s MKT Records have struck gold once again with this 3-track EP from Flavio Diaz. Sampling, as the name would suggest, is a patchwork of sonic fusions. Multiple layers of loops, riffs and grooves are punctuated with just as many innovative fills and effects to create a punchy, stripped back cut high on energy and big on funk.

Secret Addiction pumps up the tempo for a full-on rollercoaster ride of funky techno. Highly percussive and fast paced with a jittery, low-down groove that booms loud out of the speakers this is Flavio Diaz in peak-time dancefloor action.

The most experimental of the three tracks, Live Today drops the pace back down and straps a big old bouncing bassline on to the front end to create an imaginative fusion between garage and techno. Sounds crazy but check it out…
