Festival Tips: Adam Beyer, James Holden, Lützenkirchen, Paco Osuna

Festival Tips: Adam Beyer, James Holden, Lützenkirchen, Paco Osuna

One of the awesome things about summer festivals is that the artists are often as excited about them as the crowd is.

Adam Beyer [a], James Holden [a], Lutzenkirchen [a] and Paco Osuna [a] are all heading down to Holland this weekend to play Awakenings Festival but before they left they told us what they’ve got planned, who they’re psyched to see, and how they plan to make it through the madness in one piece.

Adam Beyer

Have you played Awakenings Festival before?

Yes! I am a kind of Awakenings veteran, done about 30 of them and all the festivals.

How long do you plan to spend there, and which other artists are you excited to see?

I play in Poland the day before, so I get to Amsterdam around 16:00 and I’ll go to the festival straight away. Not sure who to watch yet, I usually go with the flow.

What have you planned for your set?

A typical Adam Beyer techno set…

What festival survival tips do you have?

Expect the unexpected. Drink water.

James Holden

Have you played Awakenings Festival before?

Yes. Was fun.

How long do you plan to spend there, and which other artists are you excited to see?

I don’t make plans so far in advance! I’ll think about it when I arrive. I know I’m going to watch Ricardo Tobar, beyond that depends on…

What have you planned for your set?

I haven’t planned anything! Today i’m in the studio, tomorrow I’ll spend going through all the new music I’ve bought recently and getting ready.

What festival survival tips do you have?

Never defer buying wellies or camping chairs: if you think you’d like some, just buy them. This is more relevant to British festivals.

Lützenkirchen

Have you played Awakenings Festival before?

No, this is my first time ever. I have just played the pre-party in Eindhoven, so I am very exciting to see what will happen in Amsterdam.

How long do you plan to spend there, and which other artists are you excited to see?

Unfortunately, I will play my set and will leave directly because it’s my birthday and also my grandfather’s 80th anniversary party in the evening in Germany, so I have to be back quite early.

What have you planned for your set?

A lot of my new tracks and a couple of things only created for the live-performance.

What festival survival tips do you have?

Don´t stay sober, makes no phun..;)

Paco Osuna

Have you played Awakenings Festival before?

Yes this one is my third or fourth time, I’m not 100% sure.

How long do you plan to spend there, and which other artists are you excited to see?

Unfortunately just one day, my schedule is too busy and I have to be at home on Sunday to finish some studio work.

What have you planned for your set?

There will be a back-to-back set with my good friend Alex Under, so that will be a very nice set for sure, however—we never plan.

What festival survival tips do you have?

Bring a jacket, it is always cold at night.
