Felix Da Housecat ‘Radio’ (alternative cut)
6 February, 2008 | 5.46PMThe video for ‘Radio’, the new single by Felix Da Housecat, is essential viewing.
Unless you watch a lot of Peter Greenaway films, you won’t have seen anything quite like it in a long time.
Filmed in Mexico City by Mexican director Michel Franco, the surreal clip features Felix as a ancient-times king strolling with his Cleopatra among scenes of beauty and debauchery.
The video depicts a shameless, decadent world where there’s no difference between beautiful and ugly or rich and poor, and everyone cherishes their radio.
‘Radio’ is one of the highlights of Felix Da Housecat
fantastic third album, ‘Virgo Blaktro & The Movie Disco’.
It’s a shimmering three-minute synth-soul reverie.
With its cascading “I can’t live without my radio” chorus and dippy goosebump melody, ‘Radio’ could be a kissing cousin of Buggles’ 1980s hit ‘Video Killed the Radio Star’.
Needless to say, it’s tailor-made for the airwaves and is already picking up strong support the board.
