‘Burlesque Disco’, produced by Mieka Du Franx, a name we are seeing more of from her vocal drops on Gourmet Music, to her remix on house labels, Amfibius Recordings, ‘Is This’, and Inhale Music to her own label releases on Felinephonix Music.

This New York native develops her stretch for sounds by combining an original Italo Disco sound with elements of a Moog for an innovative project she refers to as Nu Disco House.

Mieka captures the late-night, peak time in the city atmosphere with use of train horns throughout, classic analogue additives, and her own vocal describing her illicit behaviors, strange dances and ritualistic activities.

The ample amount of extended lush for those who see the Nu side of Disco a hot commodity.

She also adds a “burlesque beatzie” version that breaks up the original for more of a freestyle pop-lockin groove.

Vancouver house veteran Shawn Ward (Turbo/Polyphonics/DIY) turns the remix, cruising it through a motored delicacy as the vocoded vocal gives the track a more robotic feel.

In classic Italo vibe, he steers the track into a peak explosion, unwinding the vocal back into the raw as it glides along a tightly knit 303.

Mr_Barcode (Rz/Music For Freaks) offers a stripped down dub version with a pulsating bass the breathes through swinging sifty beats.

He uses only select phrases of the original vocal, panning with a pitch shifter and phaser for a full vibe of airy elements.

This version serves up on more of a classic tip for minimal music lovers.

Manuel Tur [a] (Freerange/Agave), born and raised in the city of Essen, Germany, provides a smooth ‘80s funk version with a Kraftwerk meets Chaka Kahn feel.

His musicality on the keys gives this mix nu flavor with a solid digg on the bassline for more funk in your jam.
