Some things happen by plan, whilst others are chance happenings.

About 12 months ago who would have thought that the practically unknown Deadmau5, the production alias of Niagara Falls’ own Joel Zimmerman, would be one of the breakout stars of 2007?

Whilst ‘Faxing Berlin’ was what one could call a secret weapon for several DJs back in 2006, the time that has followed since has seen his DJ and production schedule skyrocket, with gigs at London’s Ministry Of Sound and studio collaborations with Chris Lake amongst some of his recent achievements, not to mention being a mainstay in the Beatport download charts for the last few months.

Joel now launches his own Mau5trap Recordings label, with the track that started it all having been re-released, along with a new edit from Chris Lake.

Whilst Lake’s edit is nothing more than a more refined, DJ friendly twist on the original, it’s the addition of the new track ‘Jaded’ that has caught the attention of a wide array of DJs, from John Digweed to Armin Van Buuren, Desyn Masiello to Dubfire.

Jaded is a massive summer record, its big chords, bass and a killer hook set to destroy the summer festivals this year.
