Everyone’s Got To Make A Living

Dances with White Girls [Throne of...

Standout track from Dances with White Girls’ new EP on The Rapture’s new imprint Throne of Blood sees the use of the iconic sample from the 20th Century Band’s ‘Heaven and Hell is on Earth’ track.

Most commonly associated with J-Lo’s ‘Jenny on the Block’ or more recently Paul Kalkbrenner’s ‘Gebrunn Gebrunn’, the lyrics, “Men go working, some go stealing, everyone’s got to make a living” are looped around a high-octane, upbeat, jackin’ house beat.

Lifted straight from their ‘Tapes’ mix album released on !K7, this track is the ultimate compliment to any party you might be throwing; wedding, birthday, funeral, whatever…this is the ultimate party tune of 2008 and perhaps the ultimate anthem for the current credit crunch climate.

Mixing in party house with some hip-hop beats and deep disco piano stabs, Dances with White Girls (aka DJ Frog) has created a contemporary form of new ‘crack’ swing for the delights of many.

Yes, ‘everyone’s got to make a living’, but with music like this, who cares?
