EP Recommendation: Burnski’s ‘New Road FM’

EP Recommendation: Burnski’s ‘New Road FM’

Burnski, at no older than 22 years of age, is Northern England’s latest debutante to the prestigious Dessous label.

In fact he’s just released his ‘New Road FM’ EP which will appear soon on Beatport.

Prior to this release he has produced music for Trapez, Morris Audio, Infant Records, Exquisite Music, and 2020 Vision.

At the age of 20, Burnski was booked to play at the legendary Back to Basics club in Leeds, which made him the youngest main room guest to play there in the club’s 16 year history.

He has made appearances at several other of Europe’s best clubs, including Watergate, The Key, The End, TDK Festival and Sankeys.

‘New Road FM’ is an EP that is good by any standards.

This EP has a sense of expansion in space and emulates some kind of patient methodical progress.

It would be great for listening to at a club, but equally great for driving to.

‘Fertile’ features some nice classic house chords and a more intense and addictive rhythmic track.

The track is smooth and warm in typical Dessous signature style.

It is lush and although not inherently adventurous, it comes across as well-done.

It could be the perfect track for the end of the night or beginning of the next day.

The title track, ‘New Road FM’ is an energetic jacking Chicago style minimal house track.

Its beautiful springy percussion, and warm synths with adequate tweaking make this track funky and fun.

‘Nose Bunker’ is oriented for the peak hours of the night.

A slightly retro sounding Josh Wink inspired acid line and many FX are doused in dubby drums.

‘You Said’ features simple down tempo cool grooves.

It has a funky bassline and one could see thousands swaggering to it.

Dessous Headquarters tells us it’s the real deal, and we’re inclined to agree.
