Bristolian Jim Rivers has seen his career soar the last few months, a mere two years after his inaugural EP ‘Restore’ was released on Saw Recordings. 

In the time that has passed since, he has seen his stock as a producer and DJ rise, aligning himself with Global Underground and showcasing his skills as the support act at nights such as Sasha’s Invol2ver launch party in London.

Not one to rest, he promptly follows that up with his latest EP ‘Empathy’, marking his debut on Bedrock Records.

The title track is a cleverly produced piece of music, its subtle opening intro subsides to reveal a dynamic and throbbing bassline, underpinned by arp lines and filter effects. 

This creates a tight, effective underlying groove that will keep the energy on most dancefloors shifting, while the edgy melody lead weaves its hypnotic magic.

Coupled with the addition of ‘Revolver’, a darker tech house track built around cascading layers of percussion and wobbling bass, the two fuse together to create a brooding techno-edged vibe, and it’s another sterling EP for Mr. Rivers and another good release for the Bedrock imprint.
