Emika: Count Backwards

Emika’s new single “Count Backwards” is out this week on Ninja Tune, and it marks yet another step forward in the Berlin-based producer’s evolution, pairing muted dubstep rumble with eerie, avant-pop stylings; it reminds us a little of ‘80s post-punk, in places. The single comes with a remix from minimalist dubsteppers Kryptic Minds and two distinct versions from Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann.

If you happen to be in Berlin this Friday, catch Emika alongside Untold, Deadboy, Schlachthofbronx, Symbiz Sound, and Mackjiggah vs. DJ Maxximus at the sixth anniversary of Bass the World at Club Maria.
