Embrace

2562 [3024]

It had to happen eventually: the two Dutch dubstep techno producers who’ve found inspiration for names in postal districts have finally teamed up on this deep, two-step release.

2562 [a], who otherwise treats us to his techno productions under the moniker A Made Up Sound [a], dropped the acclaimed ‘Aerial’ album last year on Tectonic [l], and now follows up with a tasty little dubstep record on Martyn’s 3024 [l] imprint.

Both artists come from similar backgrounds and are reportedly huge fans of Detroit techno, as well as producers who have succumbed to the recent hunger for dubstep.

It actually makes total sense that their release should feature on Martyn’s label, as ‘Embrace’ fits perfectly alongside the ethereal, spacey records already present on the imprint.

This could be a Detroit techno record if it wasn’t for a lack of banging 4/4 beats, and its style and sound is similar to that of ‘Nomad’ from Headhunter [a] and ‘Carla’ by Ramadanman [a] - all have distinctive warm synths and deep rolling percussion.

More importantly this is another prime example of the classy music being pumped out on 3024 [l], which will, throughout the course of 2009, become a stamp of quality no doubt.
