Massive Attack classic treated to a progressive house update with respect to the original, more of a classy remake than a cover version.

Eleze really delivers a standout performance, and her sweet, almost broken vocals make Elizabeth Fraser’s song her own, adding a new flavour to the magic atmospheres of the original.

Originally available as a limited one sided white label last June, and already hitting the BESTSELLER and COOL CUTS CHARTS of record shops such as 3 Beat, BM Soho, Juno, Plastic Fantastic and Hard To Find as well as the BEATPORT PROGRESSIVE HOUSE Top 100 Downloads, the perfectly voiced cover of the MASSIVE ATTACK seminal “TEARDROP” by ELEZE is finally set for a full release on EGO. Young and talented, Eleze is a singer and songwriter who hails from the sunny Sicily in the South of Italy. For her debut solo single, she has teamed up with KaranaUnit – who have been producing and remixing artists such as ABIGIL BAILEY, BOB MARLEY and RICHARD GREY for IBIZA’S PACHA Recordings of late. They have taken the MASSIVE ATTACK classic, and treated it to a progressive house update with respect to the original, more of a classy remake than a cover version. On top of that, ELEZE really delivers a standout performance, and her sweet, almost broken vocals make ELIZABETH FRASER’s song her own, adding a new flavour to the magic atmospheres of the original. Dancefloor interests are addressed by a consummate remix package: first up, JOSE AMNESIA delivers a trancey workout. ROBBIE RIVERA turns in a sick dubbier remix, and to round off a package which covers all angles, FONZERELLI gives things a delicious pop House slant on his remix. As well as plays from ARMIN VAN BUUREN, the track has been receiving very early support from ADAM K, ANDY MOOR, INPETTO, MARCO V, WAY OUT WEST and the likes. This is really looking like one of the strongest EGO releases so far, and for sure one to watch for this year’s AMSTERDAM DANCE EVENT.
