Dude Looks Like a Lady…

He’ll never hear the end of it.  For as long as he lives.  As far as we’re concerned, he’ll never live it down.  He had all the warnings and we’ve all tried to help him, but he didn’t listen.  And now, as I do my part to make sure his story lives on, I blog it so thousands of people will come to know Jayden’s story about his misstep.  This is a true story.

Our friend Jayden has a certain characteristic that most straight men have, a sense of macho-ness, of hyper-masculinity, if you will, to prove to the world.  He, along with most men, firmly believe that he can nail any woman, fix anything that’s broken and find directions to just about anywhere.  All of which being untrue, most women just nod and smile as they pull the curtains over their eyes and ignore this falsity (Women?  Don’t you agree?).  Anyhow, my friend Jayden possesses a bit more of this characteristic than what’s good for him and we are always amused to see him proven wrong. This brings me to last night.

Milla and I met up at Jayden’s apartment where we were greeted with an ear to ear grin.  The kind of grin that spells danger, a man on a mission.  Now I suppose women do the same thing, but I’m quite sure we’re not as obvious.  Jayden clearly felt that tonight was the night that he’d meet a lucky lady and get lucky (although I don’t know that I’d call her lucky).

As we entered the club, “Pushin” welcomed us and set the mood just right.  Jayden disappeared into the crowd immediately as he spotted his unfortunate prey.  Some shots of Patron and hours later we found him in conversation with a tall slender woman by the bar.  Clearly flirting and a bit intoxicated, he ignored us as we made our approach.  We teased him as friends do, asking the woman why on earth she was talking with Jayden.  He immediately shoo-ed us away as the woman wasn’t looking and as we made our exit, we see our fellow clubbing-friend, Michael.

“Is that who I think it is talking with who I know it is?” said Michael.
“Jayden?  What about him?  Who’s the girl?” Industry Girl asks.
“Oh, no!  I better go save him!” ran Michael.

And just like that, Michael darted for Jayden, trying to rescue him from God-knows-what.  Michael slyly tried to steer Jayden away from his mystery woman but Jayden wouldn’t have it.  Jayden was determined and Michael came back to us defeated.

“He thought I was trying to cock-block him!  What an idiot.  That’s the last time I try to help.” said Michael.
“A little direction here, we’re totally lost.” Milla replied.
“That ‘she’ is really a ‘he’!” exploded Michael.

Evidently Jayden found out when he took her, ahem, him, home last night.  He will never speak about that night again, which, of course, will never stop us from talking about it.  Poor guy.
