Dubfire remixes Radio Slave’s ‘Grindhouse’ (Dubfire Terror Planet remix)

Dubfire [Rekids]

It’s been quite an amazing twelve months for Dubfire [a].

The artist formerly known as one half of Deep Dish, one of mainstream house scene’s biggest acts, decided to jump ship at the beginning of 2007 and completes the move with a big new remix of Radio Slave‘s incendiary ‘Grindhouse’ tool.

It’s only a short while since Ali Dubfire ceased operations (although he claims this is only a temporary move) with his partner Sharam to concentrate on a move back into the underground.

It seemed unimaginable but after big releases on Minus and his own new label SCI + TECH he’s now one of the key artists in the scene.

His remix for Radio Slave’s Rekids label is already taking a hammering from the scene’s key tastemakers like Richie Hawtin.

The original ‘Grindhouse Tool’ is already a mainstay in the sets of big name DJs everywhere since its release in March.

Already intensely dark and moody, it seemed impossible that any more nastiness could be added.

Dubfire’s remix however tweaks its party smashing capabilities up to eleven by adding a climbing synth line that loops up and up, creating an club destroyer build-up that surges on and on throughout the track.

Cataclysmic percussive loops soaked in reverb fill in the gaps and an extended pitched down vocal completes the package to ensure that it’ll easily be considered on of this year’s biggest anthems by the end of the year.

Which begs the question, what’s next for Dubfire?

Piano lessons and an assault on classical music?
