Don’t You Know / Shock Resistance
Shock One [Viper Recordings]
27 November, 2007 | 9.38AMThe hi-octane Viper Recordings
label turns around two very ravey tracks for your dancing pleasure.
‘Don’t You Know’ featuring Elisha King is a full-energy, upbeat rave song, containing the new vogue of D&B beats as inspired by Pendulum.
It’s based around Elisha King’s excellent, well sung vocal but the main meat of it comes from the bassline, which is played in a very catchy manner and buzzes incessantly beneath the weighty beats.
To the tech-nuts out there it sounds like a nice sawtooth / sine wave combo with a medium-to-small release time, which, in combination with the airy, liquid synths hovering above it adds up to a very powerful tune which can either hurt the dance floor or soothe your ears, depending on your agenda.
‘Shock Resistance’ continues the rave-theme, but this time Shock One
goes all out to fuck the dance floor like a whore on heat, rather than provide you with even the slightest chance soothing your ears.
So – assuming you’ve just visited the crack house – this will be right up your street.
It’s basically a Pendulum-style track – and that’s that!
