DJ Magazine goes monthly
16 January, 2008 | 9.22AM- Section: Music News
DJ Magazine has announced that it has decided to go monthly, just a few weeks after free publication OneWeekToLive magazine disappeared off the streets.
The legendary bi-weekly club magazine, which has been an important publication for the British dance scene for over 10 years, claimed in a highly positive press release that the change meant they could now put out monthly ‘bumper issues’.
Some industry insiders however, have suggested that the change signals that that UK dance press is struggling.
“Our new strategy will mean every issue of DJ Magazine is a special coffee-table edition with in-depth and insightful features,” advertising manager Heath Holmes promised.
“The first special monthly edition is our ‘top 50 remixers of all-time’ issue — a must for all serious dance music fans.”
DJ Magazine, along with all the other UK dance magazines, has seen declining circulation for some years as dance websites have gained popularity.
