label will celebrate its 10th anniversary in June 2007 with the release of a special retrospective CD and a two-week artwork exhibition in London.
The exhibition, to be held at Art Vinyl in Broadway Market, will showcase 50 record sleeves of the label’s best releases from the last 10 years and will run from Saturday 30th June – Friday 13th July.
With one of the most recognisable logos in dance music, and its rich history with electro (the label was the first to sign the likes of Tiga, Fischerspooner, Miss Kittin and Zombie Nation) the exhibition is bound to be thought-provoking and provocative.
DJ Hell
and his label buddies will also be celebrating 10 years of International Deejay Gigolo by hosting Fabric’s Room Two on Saturday 30th June - The Presets and Kevin Gorman are due to play.
To date there have been over 200 International Deejay Gigolo record releases, and the label has marked every 50th release with a special limited edition item.
Release No.100 saw special knickers designed by Agent Provocateur’s (owner and Vivienne Westwood’s son) Joe Corre, which featured the International Deejay Gigolo logo on the front.
There were 500 made and the entire range sold out.
And release No.150 was celebrated with cheeky rolls of branded toilet paper which signified the label’s ethos of ‘cleaning the dirt’ (out of rubbish music).
