DJ booth fight! Alan Braxe Vs. DJ Assault
13 June, 2008 | 3.03PM- Section: Music News Topics: Beatport Blog
Most DJs have at some point in their careers played a longer time than they were allotted, pissing off the DJ who’s meant to play after them in the process.
But DJ Assault from Detroit clearly takes his name a little too seriously, because at the recent Primavera festival in Barcelona when Alax Braxe overrun his set by 10 minutes on the Vice stage, DJ Assault walked over and pushed Braxe into a speaker stack.
And then it all kicked off in the DJ booth, proper.
Sweet! A fight between DJs. They should do this at every gig.
Check out a video of the scuffle after the jump!

So in the end, there was no blood and no bones broken but who would have won had the sound engineers not stepped in?
Alan Braxe Vs. DJ Assault

Alan Braxe is known for his famous elbow drop
Alan Braxe
In the blue corner, we have Alan Braxe, a 36-year-old Frenchman who was behind the 1998 disco house smash ‘Music Sounds Better With You’ (co-written by Thomas Bangalter and Benjamin Diamond).
Alan Braxe has also dropped several big house tracks including ‘Intro’and ‘Vertigo’ and he’s best mates with Fred Faulke.
Stats: Alan’s happy house tracks full of fun, love-centric melodies unfortunately don’t give him much credibility in the ring.
However recently Alan Braxe’s tracks have been more aggressive than his ‘Music Sounds Better With You’ days, particularly ‘Addicted’ and his remix of John Lord Fonda ‘So Far Away’, so maybe as he’s getting older he’s growing bigger balls.
The fact that Braxe decided to play longer than he was supposed to (despite being asked to finish repeatedly) proves he’s got a rebellious streak.
Odds: 9/1

DJ Assault

DJ Assault: not to be messed with
In the red corner all the way from Detroit we have DJ Assault, a former hip hopper turned ghettotech producer and DJ known for his sex rap tracks such as ‘Ass N Titties’ and ‘Nympho’.
Stats: DJ Assault’s real street cred makes him an obvious choice for this scrap.
Having released EPs and CDs such as ‘Pimps And Players’ and ‘Straight Up Detroit Shit’, plus the fact he’s called DJ Assault means he’s got the reputation to worry about if he loses to a Frenchman.
However, the fact that DJ Assault threw a hissy fit because Alan Braxe played longer than he was supposed to shows he’s got little patience - if he doesn’t knock out Braxe in the first couple of rounds he might start crying.
Odds: 5/1

Verdict
DJ Assault wins. His name, his face and his music is way harder than Alan Braxe’s.
Plus Assault comes from Deee-troit, not Gay Paree.
