Lost are the days of long, hot, sun-soaked afternoons here on the north side of the equator, but summertime deep house comes year round. We’ll all have to rely on trusty ol’ four-to-the-floor to keep us from going all seasonal affective disorder, and thankfully, you can always count on Solomun‘s Diynamic imprint to deliver. With the label’s new compilation EP, it does so five times over.

Thyladomid & Adriatique, “The L Way feat. B.P. Johnson”

Adriatique and Thyladomid kick off the release with ”The L Way feat. B.P. Johnson,” an easy opener with its warm bass and gliding synth. ”Touch Me,” from Italy’s Hunter_Game, follows up with a slightly darker vibe reminiscent of Hot Creations.

Romania’s NTFO is up first on the flip with ”Feelings," following the tried and true formula of a versatile deep-house groover tempered to swing a party’s mood any way you see fit.

App‘s ”Smiling Faces” bassline is unlike anything in his repertoire: the big, blobby bass bounce, accompanied by a huge kick, will work wonders on any sound system. ”Brothers Keeper,” Liem‘s digital-only closer ,rounds out the release with vintage hats, a commanding bass line, and a simple “I promise you” vocal loop.
