When you see the phrase “BoysNoize”, you’d better sit up and take notice.

Here, on the BoysNoize label, German floor-rocker Siriusmo cooks up a rather avant-garde electronica-themed long player.

But there are some electro house beasties here too, and since this review falls under that respective genre, let’s take a look at them.

Firstly, we have the tentatively titled ‘Simple’, and whilst it isn’t exactly a basic production, it’s centred upon simple ideas that mesh together to create something altogether more complex.

Think brazen arpeggiators that came back into fashion in the early noughties and an unashamed curiosity on behalf of Siriusmo to explore melodies at any given time, then you’re close to what the cool ‘Simple’ has to offer.

It sounds like the sound track to an old Megadrive racing game by SEGA, and will be suited to more open-minded dancefloors or quite simply the car stereo on an herb-scented journey across the country to a fresher party.

Now onto ‘Diskoding’, and this LP’s title track.

You’re looking at a massively funky, musical mash up of sounds; filtered to hell and phasing all over the shop, complete with dark bridges and enough electronic bleeps to load a basic video game on your ZX Spectrum.

Did we mention that this tune reminds us of the theme tune to Inspector Gadget in a strange, hidden-underneath-Rhodes-organs kind of way?

Finally, we have ‘Diskozizin’, which, whilst failing to live up to the previous two tracks’ levels of mainstream appeal, contains a rather mental arpeggiator in its middle.

After dropping this, dancefloors will surely be more appreciative of your tune-selecting skills.

Expect nasty bass bombs and enough funk to fill an extra large Louis Vuitton suitcase.
