Shlomi Aber [Be As One]

Fact: Techno’s next generation is taking over.

Thanks to cheaper technology and the internet, an army of new producers are mobilising around the world and cramming the record shops and digital stores with new releases.

Leading this charge is Shlomi Aber [a], the 27-year old new star from Tel Aviv who nailed one of 2007’s biggest techno tracks with his Ovum release, ‘Freakside.’

Still hammered in clubland every weekend, ‘Freakside’ pointed a spotlight on a growing scene lead by Shlomi and Guy Gerber (the producer behind Cocoon 2006 anthem Sea of Sand) and supported by even newer names like Gel Abril.

Now Shlomi’s own label Be As One [l] is positioning itself as a major new player in techno thanks to releases like this.

‘Diosa’ and ‘Sekur’ are essential club rocking workhorse tracks built around tension building, off key stabbing melodies and moody, funk-fueled basslines.

‘Diosa is the pick of the pair and easily kicks dancefloors into life with block-rocking funk and loopy effect-soaked synths.

Both tracks are essential club tools for DJs like Josh Wink, who has long been supportive of the Israeli scene, playing the clubs there when other DJs shied away because of the lingering threat of violence associated with Israel.
