Music recommendation: ‘Diablo’ by Dubfire
Music recommendation: ‘Diablo’ by Dubfire
9 July, 2008 | 10.16PMWe were trying to work out the shortest amount of time it takes to convince someone how great ‘Diablo’ by Dubfire
and Oliver Huntemann
is.
After testing the record on everyone in the office, we believe the answer is “two seconds”, justifying the track’s No. 1 status on the Cocoon Recordings
download chart.
After clicking the video, and having us tease you with the tiniest snippet of Cocoon, Amnesia footage in Ibiza, jump into this thread to find all the details on this hellish anthem.
Blink and you’ll miss it!
The first time I heard ‘Diablo’ was when Sven Vath played it at Amnesia, Cocoon.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
It did more damage than anything else that night, by a fair margin.
The tune is pretty weird - techno in style - and instead of dropping like a bomb it kicks off and burns up the speakers with wave after wave of twisted, white noise.
The main bleepy hook is what dance music is all about: hypnotic and tearing.
After a few Red Bull colas and some vodka, it will get right into your brain and carry you away on top of its sub-heavy kicks.
It ain’t called ‘Diablo’ for nothing…
This is devilishly special dance music, that must be heard in a club to be appreciated fully.
It’s track 7 in the Beatport player, which is built around Cocoon Compilation H.
