Dutch Olympian Judoka Dennis van der Geest teams up with Ronald Molendijk (from Soulvation fam) to create a catchy vocal record with a summer vibe.

Dennis is the biggest judoka in his home country Holland, with a big passion for music.

Two times European champion and crowned as world champion in 2005, he also won a bronze medal at the Olympics in Greece.

Ronald Molendijk was the resident DJ of the popular club Nighttown in Rotterdam. Being one of Holland’s most well-known DJs he is also one of the driving forces behind the project Soulvation. 

Ronald Molendijk and Dennis van der Geest have played behind the decks together on many occasions.

It was a (musical) love at first sight and it was no surprise that these heavyweights would team up in the studio.

A project name was easily found, what better name than Ippon, the highest score in Judo.

‘Listen to the Sunshine’ is their first single as ‘Ippon’ and is all about bringing summer on your sound system.

With a range of remixers from upcoming talents arising from the Dutch house, there’s a mix to everyone’s flavour.
