Dennis Ferrer’s new ‘Hey Hey’ video

Dennis Ferrer’s new ‘Hey Hey’ video

Dennis Ferrer’s ‘Hey Hey’ was undoubtedly one of the biggest house tracks to emerge out of Miami’s Winter Music Conference back in March, thanks to a slew of new remixes from London’s Defected Records protracting the shelf life of the hit like a can of sweet evaporated milk.

And just in time for the summer sofa sloths, they’ve produced a new glossy music video (above), which will further cement ‘Hey Hey’ as the most resilient house track of the year.

The new Crookers remix of ‘Hey Hey’ has proven to be the most popular remix of the lot thus far, no doubt due to the fact it sounds very different to the original without delineating too far from the party line.

Vandalism’s more straightforward mainroom techno version has also been shifting units, even despite its rather obvious build up.

It will be interesting to see Dennis Ferrer’s next move - there will be pressure for him to follow up with something equally as binding and anthemic, but my guess is, he’ll duck beneath the radar and drop a few underground house cuts until the heat of expectation cools off somewhat.
