Denis The Menace and Big World get ‘Fired Up’
19 December, 2007 | 11.18AM- Section: Music News Topics: House Nation
Although there’s just only the one mix at the moment, the buzz on Denis The Menace & Big World version of ‘Fired Up’ should be enough to sustain the delay awaiting the inevitable remix package in the New Year.
It is of course a remake of Oscar Getan and Ralph Falcon’s stunning, yet ever so simple, Funky Green Dogs twisted anthem from back in 1996.
Whilst only making music since the turn of the millennium, German Denis Zet (aka Denis The Menace) has been consistently improving, while fellow German producers Big World are probably better known in trance circles for their single ‘Morning Light’.
But with the assistance of Sweden’s Nero label the combination gels with a terrific update of a hit-that-never-was.
Sticking to the same blueprint that gave the original such longevity this is a mighty big room offering with dirty pounding drums and that penetrating bassline the boiler room for some near-identical lyrical support.
Another no-brainer and a likely crossover.
