Deep Sounds of Argentina Volume II
Deep Sounds of Argentina Volume II
Hernan Nunzi [Soulman Music]
12 November, 2007 | 4.09PMRising Buenos Aires producer Hernan Nunzi
delivers three very strong tracks for this, his second instalment of ‘Deep Sounds of Argentina’ on Soulman
Music.
‘My Big Time’ is a very dark beast and the stand out track on this release.
The double pronged bass grabs you immediately, reverberating and jabbing while the deceptively energetic percussion builds the pace.
Filtered keys are threaded in before a stabby breakdown which wouldn’t sound out of place at a warehouse in Belgium circa 1990.
The sound isn’t groundbreaking, but the whole arrangement works so well that by the time it breaks for a second time, it’s game over.
Monster tune.
‘No Name’ continues the dark edged theme.
This time there’s no sudden impact.
Instead, Nunzi opts for some big room build up action.
A chunky bassline is helped along by the sound of hypnotic acoustic guitar and dark pads while spoken female vocals add to the haunting atmosphere of what is a solid heads down roller.
‘Morning Sound’ is on a completely different tangent to the other tracks.
Warm lush pads are the order of the day for this sunny piece of mellow deep tech house with a gorgeous sax section rounding things off perfectly.
