Deekline & Dustin Hulton like apple-shaped bottoms

In music videos, there has always been something of a race to the bottom. Sex sells, and directors pay very close attention to the guidelines broadcasters dictate. What’s the most amount of nakedness we can squeeze into three minutes before the watershed?

For the most part, the addition of gyrating booties and shapely midriffs to a track that has nothing to do with sex seems mightily contrived, at least to those not watching. The music video channels’ under-18, mainly male, demographic of course, absolutely loves it. It’s why they’re watching in the first place.

But in the case of Deekline & Dustin Hulton’s hip hop-laced breakbeat track ‘Apple Bottom’, they simply had no choice but to include shapely female bottoms in their video, because that’s what the track celebrates. Either that, or it’s a clever ad for the fashion line Apple Bottoms.

What else could they put in there? The director probably had countless sleepless nights in the run up to the production in desperate search of a script that didn’t involve a nice shaking behind.

And you have to admire their honesty. We like bums. Nice big, apple-shaped ones. Fair enough. I’m more of a peach man, myself.

With a wobbly electro house remix from British mad cat Will Bailey, and a nasty breakbeat remix from High Rankin, expect to hear this across the pirate radio networks and basement parties in the coming weeks.
