release, and one that equates to a heavy bitch of a track.
There is no doubt its producer, Proxy
, is influenced heavily by drum & bass, and perhaps the producers known as Pendulum, judging by the style of his production on ‘Decoy’.
This is a really nasty mutation of Electro House.
His mastery of synthesis and effects editing is plain to hear, because the synths are just vomit inducing (in the best possible way of course).
Cutting through the rusty, filthy, driving, layered basses are proper horror-show LFO synths, which add up to a creation capable of making teeth grind with forbidden pleasure.
It’s also really cool to hear Proxy’s oldskool rave-influenced build up, with 1991-style piano riffs and a ‘One time!’ MC vocal complete with crowd noise and whistle in the background!
The second track by Proxy, ‘Ready To Watching’, is a bit funkier, but nonetheless retains the sharp, unclean edge as pioneered in ‘Decoy’.
The arrangement is similar, too, so if this were a vinyl plate, it’s safe to say that ‘Ready To Watching’ would be a B-Side.
Proxy goes on to engineer a nice sense of progression into the track, but it still doesn’t match the former.
